GMAW (MIG)
Oxygen-free coppers: Deoxidized copper; Up to 3/16”, Ar, 100 - 200°F preheat; Over 3/16”, 75He/25Ar, 200 - 1000°F preheat
Brasses: Phos Bronze for red brass; Silicon Bronze for fluidity; Aluminum Bronze for high strength brass and dissimilar combinations; Ar if possible, otherwise add He; 200 - 600°F preheat
Phos bronzes: Phos Bronze; Ar if possible, otherwise add He; up to 400°F preheat
Aluminum bronzes: Use Aluminum Bronze A2 for joining, A1 is suitable for overlay; 300°F max. preheat; Are if possible, otherwise 75He/25Ar on heavier sections
Silicon bronzes: Silicon Bronze; Ar with relatively high welding speeds; 150°F max. preheat
