PHOS COPPER

Blockade
Silicon brazing alloys offer significant advantages over phos/copper and silver/phos/copper (BCuP) brazing alloys and present important differences in the brazing of copper and its alloys. The addition of silicon effects such noticeable changes as:
  • Outstanding ability to form a large shoulder, or cap, at the braze connection
  • Distinct, favorable color changes in the finished braze alloy
  • Improved ductility over non-silver-bearing BCuP-2 braze alloys
  • Easily brazes brass and brass alloys without the addition of silver
  • Significantly reduces brazing temperatures compared to BCuP braze alloys
  • The addition of silicon further enhances the favorable color change


    • The phosphorus content serves as a “self-fluxing” agent in joining copper to copper. When brazing brass to copper or brass to brass, use STAY-SILV White brazing flux.

    		 Dynaflow
    This premium, medium range silver alloy has been meticulously formulated to even tighter specifications than the Stay-Silv alloys to mirror the performance of the 15% silver filler metals. Use DYNAFLOW flux.
    Phos Copper 0
    This low cost alloy is suitable for most copper-to-copper or brass joints where close tolerance can be maintained.

    		 Stay-Silv 15
    For many years the standard of the industry, the 15% silver alloy has proven its value. This filler metal is excellent for situations in which close fit-up does not exist, and where agitation and vibration in service are involved.


    The phosphorus content serves as a “self-fluxing” agent in joining copper to copper. When brazing brass to copper or brass to brass, use STAY-SILV White brazing flux
    Stay-Silv 2
    This economical, low silver alloy, designed to broaden the melting range of Phos Copper 0, has proven useful in some specific applications where mechanical properties are not critical.

    		 Stay-Silv 5 & 6
    These medium-range alloys are well suited where close fit-up cannot necessarily be maintained. These filler metals are somewhat more ductile than Phos Copper 0 or Stay-Silv 2.
