The Harris Products Group, a Division of The Lincoln Electric Company, is the global leader in the design and manufacture of gas welding and cutting equipment, industrial and specialty gas regulation equipment, and gas distribution systems, brazing and soldering alloys, and welding consumables.
Lincoln Electric’s retail division, WCTA (Welding, Cutting Tools, and Accessories), has an opportunity for a motivated retail sales representative for their Southern California retail sales territory. You must be able to increase sales to big box retail stores. You must be rejection proof and be able increase sales margins and profitability. You will represent Lincoln Electric and the Harris Products Group in communications with retail establishments and act as liaison between the retailer and WCTA. You should embrace technology to help you work more efficiently. Welding knowledge and experience is helpful but not required. This position reports to the Vice President, WCTA LLC. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Making calls to retailers and providing quotes, writing orders, recommending retail prices, suggesting ideal store placement to maximize sales, performing store services, and providing product training to store managers and staff.
- Soliciting new retailers within the territory and increasing Lincoln Electric, WCTA, and The Harris Products Group product presence throughout the retail channel.
- Prospecting and increasing sales by attending retailer sponsored events, such as Grand Openings, Contractor Days, Member Shows, Trade Shows, Employee Expositions, etc.
- Providing accurate and timely information to WCTA management that directly affects WCTA’s sales and production (i.e. forecasts, change in demand, inaccurate SKU status, store closings, etc.).
- Building and maintaining relationships with retailers in the territory and following through on retailer requests.
- Utilizing best practices and independent judgment regarding requests to return product. Offering solutions that resolve the retailer’s issue in a timely and resourceful manner, and focuses on the retailer’s ability to sell the products while reducing WCTA’s financial impact.
- Completing weekly reporting of sales calls, store level inventories, price fluctuations and forecasts and submitting a weekly travel schedule to the Vice President of WCTA, LLC.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree or Technical degree preferred.
- Ability to drive and travel on a daily basis required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, e-mail communications, and Internet usage.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with all levels of the organization and with customers.
- Ability to work productively and effectively with little supervision.
- Welding knowledge and experience preferred, but not required.
