Copper Based MIG/TIG Alloys

Harris copper based alloys include bare and flux-coated low fuming bronze, silicon bronze, aluminum bronze and deoxidized copper. Copper-based alloys require a relatively high heat input with shortened welding times, higher preheat temperatures and faster welding rates than steel.

Aluminum bronze alloy GMAW (MIG)/GTAW (TIG) A1 is used to weld overlays for bearing and wear resistant surfaces, but is not recommended for joining. A2 is used for joining aluminum bronze base metals, welding brass, steel and dissimilar metals.

High-copper content alloy GMAW (MIG)/GTAW (TIG) is used to weld copper-to-steel and copper base metals where good electrical conductivity exists. It is a good color match to copper.

Copper-Based Alloy

Phos-bronze A & C copper-tin alloy GMAW (MIG)/GTAW (TIG) with good corrosion resistance and ductility used for welding base metals of steel, cast iron, copper, brass and bronze. It is ideal for overlays and surfaces needing a bronze wearing surface.
